Over the course of 5 days, attendees will cover Patient Monitors, PIC iX Central Monitoring, Intellivue Telemetry System (ITS) and MX40 Telemetry Tranceivers. Attendees will learn theory behind configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Patient Monitors through to the PIC iX Central Station solution with an active hands-on approach. Both options of Philips Supplied Network (PSN) and Customer Supplied Network (CSN) are scoped. Training material is taken from several courses and delivered customized to satisfy educational needs. All major system components are covered so that the biomedical engineer can manage system wide configuration in consultation with the end user for optimal system utilisation. The biomedical engineer will develop competence and be able to consult with Philips engineers on design and implementation requirements along with troubleshooting issues utilising in built diagnostic tools. Additionally, attendees will leave having gained a license to use SupportTool software (M3086A) on IntelliVue Patient Monitors, MX40s and ancillary equipment and be confident in troubleshooting communication issues both hardwired and wireless. Participants will become competent in simple device repair right through to complete system disaster recovery.

A full hardwired and wireless hospital replicated system is provided for labs including, Primary, Physio and Web servers with Surveillance and Overview stations along with ITS network infrastructure and Access Points on a PSN.

Prerequisites:

Basic computer and network skills. Preferred electronics background. A good understanding of physiology and anatomy along with basic Windows Operating Systems understanding.
